Who we are

NowssB (“we”) makes the NowssB app and website: word-based meditation, sound practice, a reader and a store for words, meanings and ebooks. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

• Account (Firebase Authentication, Google). When you sign in with Google, email or phone we receive your user id, email address or phone number, display name and profile photo URL.
• Profile and app data (Cloud Firestore, Google). Your profile, preferences, practice sessions and progress you choose to sync, word requests, feedback you send, wishlist, notifications sent to you, and items you own.
• Purchases (Google Play). Payments are handled by Google Play Billing. We never see your card or bank details. We receive and store the purchase token, order id, product, plan and its status so we can unlock what you bought and handle renewals and refunds.
• Media (Cloudflare R2). Audio, video and images in the app are served from media.nowssb.com. Like any web server it processes your IP address and device information to deliver files. Media you upload as an admin or creator is stored there.
• Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging). If you allow notifications, a device token is stored so we can send reminders and messages. You can turn notifications off in the app or in Android settings.
• On your phone only. Many settings, your cart and local practice history are kept on the device and are deleted when you uninstall the app or delete your account.

How we use it

• To run your account, sync your practice and unlock content and plans you paid for.
• To answer word requests and support messages, and to send notifications you asked for.
• To keep the service safe: preventing fraud, abuse and duplicate purchases.
• To run the rewards programme (coins, coupons, links) under its own terms, where available.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

Data is processed by our providers only to run NowssB: Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Play) and Cloudflare (website, server functions and R2 media). If you set your profile to public, your display name, username, photo and bio can be seen by other people on nowssb.com. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete Account. This erases your profile, synced practice data, wishlist, notifications and your sign-in. Records we must keep for tax, accounting or Google Play refund handling (purchase receipts and order ids) are kept only as long as the law requires and are not used for anything else. You can also ask for deletion by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account; we act within 30 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw consent for notifications, and make your profile private (Settings → Appear in Discover). Write to us for anything you cannot do in the app.

Children

NowssB is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS and protected by Firebase security rules so each person can read only their own private data. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Significant changes will also be shown in the app.
